Search and merchandising for large Shopify catalogs.
Built for Shopify. Storefront search, automated collection sorting, merchandising rules, and the product reports that tell you what to surface next — in one app. Built for stores with thousands of SKUs that have outgrown native search and manual drag-and-drop.
1,000+
SKUs is where native Shopify search starts to fold
10,000+
SKUs is where Merch Monk is built to live
Real-time
Re-sorts run on Shopify webhooks, not nightly batches
Four capabilities. One app. Shopify-native.
Storefront search
Fast, forgiving, ranked the way you actually merchandise.
Typo-tolerant, synonym-aware search built for catalogs in the thousands. Customers find what they meant — not what they typed. Ranked by performance signals you control, not by alphabetical accident.
- Sub-100ms search across 10k+ SKUs
- Synonyms, typo correction, semantic matching
- Filters and facets that match your taxonomy
- Search analytics — see what customers can’t find
Collection sorting
Your best sellers should be at the top. Automatically.
Rules-based collection sorting that runs on every Shopify collection. Sort by sales velocity, conversion rate, margin, inventory level, or any combination. Re-sort in real time as the data moves — not when someone remembers to drag and drop on Monday.
- Sort by velocity, conversion, margin, inventory, custom logic
- Compose multi-rule sort orders with weights
- Real-time re-sort triggered by Shopify webhooks
- Audit log — see what changed, when, and why
Merchandising rules
Override the algorithm where it matters.
Pin hero products to the top of a collection. Boost a campaign for a fortnight. Bury what’s out of stock without unpublishing it. The rules engine handles the standing logic; merchandising rules handle the human judgement.
- Pin and boost individual products
- Time-boxed promotions and campaigns
- Hide-when-out-of-stock without unpublishing
- Per-collection overrides — global rules with local sense
Product & merch reports
Know what to drop, what to push, what to reorder.
The reports a merchandiser actually wants on Monday morning. Product performance ranked by the metrics that matter. Collection-level merch reports to surface the misfit SKUs and the under-promoted winners. Built for stores curating a product mix, not just running a catalog.
- Product performance — velocity, conversion, margin, returns
- Collection-level merch reports with under/over-performers
- Search insights — what customers searched and didn’t find
- Export to CSV, schedule weekly digests by email
Native Shopify tooling wasn’t built for catalogs of this size.
Past about a thousand SKUs, native search starts missing obvious matches and customers start bouncing. Past about five thousand, manual collection sorting becomes a part-time job nobody asked for. And merch reporting? Cobbled together from three apps and a Google Sheet. We hit all of those walls running Threadheads, so we built the thing that fixed them.
Merch Monk is what came out of that. Same operator logic as DecoMonk, applied to the storefront instead of the print floor.
